Managed Load Balancer

High-availability load balancing as a service

Spread traffic across your servers with a fully managed L4/L7 load balancer hosted in Sweden. Automatic failover, TLS termination with free Let's Encrypt certificates and built-in DDoS protection — and you can balance servers anywhere, not just ours.

A load balancer distributes incoming connections across several backend servers, so no single machine is a bottleneck or a single point of failure. Ours runs in an active/standby pair with automatic failover in about 3 seconds, handles both raw TCP (L4) and HTTP/HTTPS (L7, including HTTP/2), and is reconfigured in seconds from your control panel. You get your own public VIP to point DNS at.

Why Internetport Load Balancer

L4 and L7

Balance any TCP traffic at L4, or HTTP/HTTPS (HTTP/2) at L7 with host- and path-based routing.

Automatic failover

Active/standby high availability with failover in ~3 seconds. Fully managed by us — nothing for you to run.

Balance servers anywhere

Targets can be our dedicated servers or VPS — or external IPs at Hetzner, AWS or any other data center or cloud.

TLS & DDoS built in

Free Let's Encrypt TLS termination (auto-renewed) or passthrough, plus per-listener rate-limiting for DDoS protection.

Choose your load balancer

Every plan is fully managed, highly available and hosted in a Swedish data center — with its own public VIP and a generous 20 TB of traffic included.

What you get

Health checks

Configurable active and passive health checks pull unhealthy backends out of rotation automatically.

HTTP routing

Route by host and path at L7 — send different domains or URLs to different backend pools.

Instant reconfiguration

Add listeners, change targets or update certificates in seconds from the customer panel.

Your own VIP

A dedicated public virtual IP per customer — point your DNS at it and you're live.

Managed and hosted in Sweden

The load balancer runs on our own infrastructure in a Swedish data center, under EU jurisdiction and GDPR. We operate the active/standby pair, the failover and the TLS certificate lifecycle for you — you just define your listeners and backends. Because targets are addressed by IP, you can put your backend servers wherever makes sense: with us, or at another provider entirely.

Frequently asked questions

L4 (transport layer) balances raw TCP connections by IP and port — good for any TCP protocol, including databases, custom services and HTTPS you want to pass straight through. L7 (application layer) understands HTTP/HTTPS (including HTTP/2), so it can route by hostname and URL path, terminate TLS and apply HTTP-aware rules. Our load balancer does both; you choose per service.

Yes. Targets are addressed by IP, so a backend can be one of our dedicated servers or VPS, or an external IP at Hetzner, AWS, another data center or your own premises. You can mix providers behind a single load balancer — useful for hybrid setups and migrations.

Each load balancer runs as an active/standby pair. If the active node fails, the standby takes over the public VIP automatically in about 3 seconds, so your service keeps answering. The whole pair is managed by us — there is nothing for you to install, patch or monitor.

Yes. You can terminate TLS on the load balancer with free Let's Encrypt certificates that we issue and renew automatically, or use passthrough and terminate TLS on your own backends. Certificate counts scale with the plan (10, 25 or 50).

A service (listener) is one public port/protocol the load balancer listens on — for example HTTPS on 443 for a given site. A target (backend) is one server IP behind a service. LB 5 includes 5 services and 25 targets, LB 20 includes 15 and 75, and LB 40 includes 30 and 150. Upgrade a tier anytime as you add more sites or backends.
